Get to know Tamika:
I was born and raised in Germany, and moved to the USA, in 2002. I became a mental health counselor due to growing up in a traumatizing environment. From a very young age on, I wanted to set out to put words on my experiences and what I could observe in my care givers (their trauma), and wanting to help them. When I had the opportunity to start my life over in the USA, I set out to fulfill my calling and started my career, first as a substance abuse counselor, and then obtaining my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In the course of obtaining my licensure, I came across heavily traumatized and heavily dissociated individuals, and through my work in attempting to help this population heal, have become a trauma therapist. I believe we can heal from trauma with the right therapist, the right approach, and the right interventions.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, dancing, crocheting and knitting. I also enjoy hiking and zip lining.
